Tattoo Removal

The Science Behind the Results

Laser tattoo removal is the only clinically-proven method of removing a tattoo without causing scarring.  For more than a decade, the  lasers have been designed to create ultra-short pulses of light energy that shatter ink in a tattoo.

The production of ultra-short (nanosecond) pulses of the precise wavelengths of light energy best designed to shatter tattoo ink.

Skin Rejuvenation & Scar Treatment

Laser skin rejuvenation involves brief, high-energy laser pulses applied to the skin. The intense energy causes a photoacoustic effect in the skin, stimulating cells to produce more collagen. The increased collagen production reduces the appearance of skin imperfections such as fine lines, wrinkles, crow’s feet, acne scars, other scars including pitting, enlarged pores, and uneven skin tone. The treatment treats and improves the the scarring, it does not remove it completely.

Laser skin rejuvenation has been a popular aesthetic procedure for many years. Older ablative lasers removed top skin layers, causing pain and requiring downtime. Astanza technology offers alternative, gentler solution with the same collagen-producing results. Astanza lasers use non-ablative skin resurfacing, making the procedure painless, with minimal side effects.

Sun Spot or Age Spot Removal

During treatment, the laser pulses are applied directly to the complete area of the sun or age spot. The skin cells containing excess melanin absorb the intense laser energy, heat up, and degenerate. Meanwhile, the surrounding skin tissue is unharmed. After treatment, as the area heals, the immune system flushes away the dead skin cells and reveals lighter, unblemished skin.

Procedure time depends on the size of the sun or age spot treated. An sun or age  spot can take a single second to treat, while a large birthmark or nevus can take up to a few minutes. Patients may experience slight discomfort during the procedure, but the side effects are minimal.

Toenail Fungus

During treatment, intense pulses of laser energy are applied to the entire area of each infected nail. The laser energy penetrates through the nail plate to heat up and kill the fungus hiding in the nail bed.

The procedure typically lasts 10 to 20 minutes, depending on if both feet undergo treatment. The laser pulses cause virtually no pain for patients, although they may feel a slight warming sensation.

Acne Treatment

The laser targets safe pulses of light energy to eliminate acne at its source. The light energy is directed at the affected pores, triggering a photoelectrochemical process that kills bacteria and reduces acne severity in the skin.

The overall treatment time is very quick and depends on the amount of acne being treated. Some patients have described the procedure as painless while others have experienced slight discomfort. Overall, majority of patients find the procedure to be very tolerable with minimal side effects.

Spider Vein Treatment

Laser therapy for  Sclerotherapy and laser vein treatments are used to treat these vessels, erasing them from your skin. Spider veins (not to be confused with varicose veins) are dilated or stretched blood vessels that have a branching pattern and are commonly found on the thigh, lower leg and occasionally on the face. Spider veins are progressive in nature and usually increase in number and visibility with age.

Stretch Mark Treatment

To effectively treat stretch marks, collagen production is boosted on the affected area, as well as causing collagen contraction and skin tightening. This is achieved using a combination of lasers. The lasers work at different wavelengths to target specific layers of skin. Results can vary from patient to patient. Stretch marks affecting darker skin require more treatments as the lasers have to be used on a lower setting to avoid hypo-pigmentation.
